Actor and comedian Bernie Mac died at age 50 after a long battle with sarcoidosis, a rare immune system disease, which eventually led to pneumonia. According to mourners, Mac’s funeral was part late-night comedy show and part Sunday church service. Comedians Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer began the service with jokes and stories about Mac. The funeral also included a slide show of photos and a musical performance by Rachelle Ferrell, Mac’s favorite singer. The service lasted four hours, and mourners began lining the streets of Chicago about five hours prior to the funeral.
