Much has been written lately about a recent Ohio State University Study which found that while people are dying older, their photos are getting younger. And that the families of deceased women tend to have younger photos than that of men.
What's behind this? Is it our obsession with staying young? Botox and cosmetic surgery?
That's not what I notice. I am a reader of the obits, in a newspaper no less, and am always wondering-in this digital age, why some photos of the older deceased are from 50 years or more ago? The hair is a dead giveaway. My only guess is that maybe they just haven't switched over to a digital camera, but somehow that photo got to the newspaper. Maybe it is when their life was the happiest and that's how they want to be remembered. Who knows...
