2.     Northwoods Casket Company

Located in Wisconsin, the Northwoods Casket Company is dedicated to making eco-friendly and handcrafted caskets and coffins.  They have hundreds of different styles to choose from in a variety of types of wood, including several pine options.  Our favorite is the Plain Pine Box, which contains no metal and a natural cotton interior.  Check out this model here.

3.     Simple Pine Box

Simple Pine Box is a small one-man workshop in northern Minnesota that makes inexpensive and thoughtfully made simple pine caskets.  The craftsman, Mark Coen, is a retired minister who pours his heart and soul into each casket he builds.  You can order simply by emailing mark@simplepinebox.com, or calling his shop at (218) 231-2413

4.     Oregon Wood Caskets LLC

This company specializes in making completely green, beautiful caskets.  They are a little more ornate than a typical pine box coffin, but all the materials used are organic and safe to be put in the ground.  They have several options to choose from, including a Jewish pine casket and wooden urns.  Check them out here.

5.     Casket Builder Supply

If you are looking for a simple pine casket but haven’t found exactly what you are looking for, you can always build one at home.  There are tons of construction plans available for free online, or you can purchase a kit through a company like Casket Builder Supply.  They ship all materials plus plans to your house for a fraction of the price, plus several different customizable add-ons like a liner or oil finish.  Check out their kit here.
